It was billed as the wedding as the year and without doubt it will take a long time to surpass the evening we had in Ostan an Tulla which followed the wedding of Bill and Mona in St Judes outdoor pop up Church in Tulla on Sunday the 5th of June.  The wine, music and songs were flowing just as quick as the witty speeches that were delivered from the top table. There was music from the Tulla Céilí band joined by local musicians with singing from Nora Butler which was followed by Larry McEvoy and then Andrew MacNamara with his Shuckin n Jivin” disco

Morna Toibín walked up the aisle with  Cyril Hogan, in a ceremony that was officiated by our “political priest” Timmy Dooley, the father of the bride, was Cllr Joe Arkins, FG, with his wife on the night being Kitty Leyden. The mother of the groom  Noel McNamara and his Kevin Dillon was standing in loco parentis as his father.

“Brides maids “ Darragh Corry ( Concepta) and David McInerney (Attracta), looked well in their high heels and taffeta gowns and I even heard one or two girls saying that if they looked as well as them in their own gowns they would be very happy. Michael Murphy and Jim Mc Inerney did the honours of bestman and groomsman. The flower girls and page boys, Sorchadha Costello, Amy McNamara, Joseph Hogan and Sean Lyons helped to complement the full party.

Well done to Anita O’Loughlin, who wrote and produced  this great Event. I think she might have to patent it as it was a great fundraiser for the Tulla Comhaltas culutral centre developemental Committee.

I could see this play being run in many parishes throughout the country with local aspiring actors ( characters)  playing the main roles.  Take a look in the photo gallery for a full list of photos of the night courtesy of Jackie Elger Fiántas Photography.

Well done to all involved. It was a great night
